September 22, 2023: Microsoft has big news! The tech giant has just shared details about its new artificial intelligence (AI) tool named Copilot. This tool is special because it works with many things you use every day, like Bing, the Edge web browser, and Microsoft 365 software.
The company from Redmond, Washington, is placing big bets on AI that can create things like text and images.
But that’s not all. Microsoft also has new tech toys. The company showed off four new Surface devices. These devices are called Surface Laptop Go 3, Surface Laptop Studio 2, Surface Go 4 For Business, and Surface Hub 3.
Surface Hub 3 is a newer version of a board you can write on and touch. The new laptops and Hub will help Microsoft stay ahead in the game and compete with other big tech companies like Alphabet and Apple.
What about dates? The Copilot AI tool will come out on September 26 with new changes to Windows 11. And if you use Microsoft 365, you can get Copilot there on November 1.
People who run businesses are really looking forward to this. In July, Microsoft said Copilot will cost $30 per user every month if you already have a Microsoft 365 subscription.
Why is this happening now? Some things have changed at Microsoft. Panos Panay, the person who was in charge of products for a long time, has left.
Now, Yusuf Mehdi, the head of consumer marketing, is taking his place.
Mehdi will now look after Surface and Windows products and also work with other companies that make PCs and sell them.
This news comes after a lot of talk about Copilot for many months. Microsoft is going all-in on AI. It’s making AI a big part of many products and services.
It even said Bing search will soon use OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 to make images. This strong focus on AI is going to make other tech companies pay close attention.
