Searching for all the restricted banned words you cannot use in Character.AI?

Character AI is an AI platform where users chat with bots based on real or fictional characters. Certain words like “mistress,” “suicide,” and others are banned to keep conversations safe. This helps protect younger users and maintain a friendly environment.

However, these are not the only words banned on Character AI. There are more.

In this post, we have shared the words that are banned in Character AI and can’t be used by users in certain chats.

Let’s begin!

Hard and Soft Ban on Character.AI

On Character.AI, bans come in two forms: soft bans and hard bans, both of which are shadow bans, meaning users are not directly notified.

To determine if a character is hard-banned, log out and check if the character link still works; for a soft-banned, see if the character appears in search results. The platform strictly prohibits NSFW content, leading to bans for violations such as soliciting personal information from minors or discussing NSFW topics.

Bans can be full, restricting all access, or shadow bans, where content is hidden without notification. So, we must warn you not to use some of the words listed below.

List of Banned Words in Character AI

Character AI, launched in September 2022, is an innovative chatbot platform created by former Google AI developers Noam Shazeer and Daniel De Freitas.

It offers human-like text responses and contextual conversations with characters, including fictional, historical, and celebrity figures.

Unlike traditional chatbots, Character AI prioritizes entertainment and allows users to interact with multiple bots simultaneously, offering diverse perspectives and enabling users to create their characters.

Though you can use the NSFW filters on Character.AI, which we have shared in this article, it’s important to note that certain common banned words could still result in an account ban or warning.
