Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg Are Dead Serious About Fighting

UFC President Dana White revealed that he had a conversation with Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, during which both tech billionaires expressed their genuine interest in participating in a physical fight.

The exchange between Musk and Zuckerberg initially began as a lighthearted online banter surrounding Meta’s planned Twitter competitor.

However, it has now evolved into a potential Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event.

According to White, he spent approximately 1.5 hours on the phone with Musk and Zuckerberg, emphasizing that they are “dead serious” about engaging in a fight.

The discussion about a possible match took place after Musk stated that he was willing to participate in a cage match against Zuckerberg, who has been practicing jiu-jitsu.

Zuckerberg responded on his own platform, asking Musk to provide the location for the fight.

While White is not the first outsider attempting to get involved in this spectacle, it seems fitting for the UFC to host such a clash between two billionaires.

Musk later mentioned the possibility of an MMA-style event, aligning it with the UFC’s area of expertise.

White disclosed that Zuckerberg reached out to him first, inquiring about Musk’s seriousness. White conveyed the question to Musk, who confirmed his genuine intent.

As a neutral promoter, White stated that both men are ready to fight, noting Zuckerberg’s well-known training regimen. Musk also shared with White that despite people’s perception, he had been involved in numerous fights while growing up in South Africa.

While speaking to TNZ Sports, Dana White said:

“This would be the biggest fight ever in the history of the world. Bigger than anything that’s ever been done, it would break all pay-per-view records, these guys would raise hundreds of millions of dollars for charity. You don’t have to be a fight fan to be interested in this fight, everybody would want to see it. Listen, if these guys are serious, I make fights that people want to see, that’s what I do for a living. If they really want to do it and they’re serious and we can figure out a way to pull this off, I would absolutely, positively do this.”

Sportsbooks have already released hypothetical betting lines, with the fight being considered a toss-up.

In White’s eyes, the ultimate victor would be him and the UFC, as he believes this fight would go down as the largest in history, breaking all pay-per-view records.

White estimated that the fight would cost approximately $100 to watch on pay-per-view and could generate “hundreds of millions of dollars” for charitable causes.

As of now, representatives for the UFC, Zuckerberg, and Musk have not responded to Insider’s request for comment.
